"This fourth edition of S.Pellegrino Young Chef, which is shown as a point of reference, represents the real commitment of S.Pellegrino to continue developing an initiative that really drives the future of gastronomy," says Stefano Marini, director of the department of international business of Sanpellegrino. "In fact, we are already committed to supporting the international gastronomic community by incorporating, discovering and promoting the next generation of culinary talent, allowing them to demonstrate that their personal philosophy fosters the transformative power of gastronomy."
The registration period for this edition of the S.Pellegrino Young Chef will begin in February 2019 . For the first time, there will be three additional prizes in addition to the title of S.Pellegrino Young Chef. These awards will give voice and serve as a platform to different young chefs recognizing their varied philosophies and points of view on the way in which gastronomy can help transform society. The four prizes are the following:
Fine Dining Lovers Food for Thoughts Award ("Food for the Spirit" Award from Fine Dining Lovers). Voted by the online community "Fine Dining Lovers". This award will be given to the young chef who best reflects his personal philosophy on his plate.
S.Pellegrino Award for Social Responsibility ( S.Pellegrino Award for Social Responsibility ). Voted by an internationally renowned sustainable food expert. The winning dish must represent the principle that food is best when it results from socially responsible practices.
Acqua Panna Award for Connection in Gastronomy ( Acqua Panna Award for Fusion in Gastronomy). Voted by mentors representing 50 countries around the world. The winning chef will be the one who best reflects in his dish the fusion of different cultures as a tribute to the gastronomy of a global perspective.
And finally, the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Award . Voted by the distinguished jury composed of "the Seven Sages". The winning chef must demonstrate incomparable technical skills along with authentic creativity. He must also have demonstrated a solid personal philosophy in terms of gastronomy that convinces the jury of its ability to become the catalyst for positive change.
The winners of the S.Pellegrino Young Chef awards will have the extraordinary opportunity to achieve worldwide visibility and significant professional prestige. Winners will also be invited to participate in several of S.Pellegrino's high-level annual events that take place around the world, including events related to future S.Pellegrino Young Chef contests.
The enrollment period of the S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2019/20 will begin on February 4, 2019 at Sanpellegrino.com and will remain open until April 30, 2019 .
